Clear the small stuff (pictures, shelves, breakables, electronics) and leave the big furniture to us; we move it to the middle of the room and cover it. Pick your colors before day one, plan a room for the pets, and expect each room to be out of use for a day or two. We walk through with you at the end and touch up anything you spot.

Why Does Exterior Paint Peel on the North Side of Minnesota Homes?
North walls peel first because they get the worst of both seasons: in winter, warm moist indoor air pushes out through the wall and condenses behind the paint, and in summer the shaded north side dries slowest, so every rain and dew soaks in longer. Ice-dam runoff and failed caulk add liquid water on top. Prep that removes the loose film, dries and primes the bare wood, and reseals the joints is what stops it.

Should You Paint or Replace Your Kitchen Cabinets?
Paint the cabinets if the boxes are solid, the layout works, and you like the door style or can live with it. Replace them if the particleboard has swelled, the layout is the real problem, or you want different doors. Most 1990s and 2000s oak and maple kitchens in the west metro pass the test and paint well when the grain is filled and the doors are sprayed off the boxes.

Yes, and winter is when we do most of our interior work. Furnace-heated air in a Minnesota house runs very dry, which helps paint dry and recoat quickly, and modern low-VOC paints mean you do not need the windows open. We work room by room so the house stays warm and usable while the job is on.

When Is the Best Time to Paint a House Exterior in Minnesota?
In the west metro, exterior paint wants surface and air temperatures above about 50°F for a couple of days, and nights that stay above the dew point, which puts the honest window from roughly May through mid-October. Low-temperature products stretch it to about 35°F. June through September is the core, and the calendar for those months fills in spring.
